23 October 2007
The wall is painted by our very own En. Yahya and En. Anuar. We have chosen yellow as it represents the sovereignity or the 'daulat' or our beloved Malaysia. But most importantly, we chose the colour as it represents the school's sentiment : confidence and optimism.

There are two questions: What does Merdeka mean to me? and, in conjunction with Malaysia’s 50th Independence, what is your Merdeka wish? The team members worked very hard collecting the survey, laminating them and put them up on the section named “Suara Anak Merdeka”. This effort is to elevate the awareness, among the students and teachers, of the sacrifices done by our forefathers to achieve independence.

Exhibits 4: History of Independence

1-5 October 2007:

This week we were pretty busy preparing the exhibits for the Merdeka Walk. The exhibits focused on the History of Independence of Federation of Malaya. This was such a glorious moment for our country when we were successful in pressuring the British to relinquish their sovereignty in August 1957, thus making Federation of Malaya an independent nation.

The exhibits focus on the events leading up to the declaration of Independence on August 31, 1957. There is exhibit showing the delegates going to London led by the late Tunku. There is also the exhibit on the Reid Commission which was responsible for drafting the Constitution of the Federation of Malaya and there is the one showed the official proclamation of independence at Stadium Merdeka on August 31, 1957. The exhibits were presented in A3 paper with very colourful graphics and yet very informative.
