Feedback from community.....

Pn Hajah Juraidah Johan – Guru Sejarah

Merdeka Walk membuka nostalgia lama meniti perjuangan, demi maruah, demi harga diri satu bangsa merdeka. Sekaligus membangkitkan semangat cintakan tanah air.

Pn Thamarai A/P Thamodharan – Guru Sejarah

Program “The merdeka Walk” anjuran Maxis CyberlinQ merupakan satu program yang amat bermanfaat

bersempena sambutan 50 tahun kemerdekaan Negara.

Pn Raja Azma Raja Mamat – Ketua Panitia Sejarah

Pn Rosimah Busro – Guru Bahasa Melayu

Pn Siti Norzah Mat Daris – Guru Bahasa Melayu

Pn Noridiamiyanti Samiron – Kaunselor / Bendahari Merdeka Walk

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate the team members of Tech Savvy for this praiseworthy effort. Kudos to all of you! Merdeka Walk, apparently, is carried out in conjunction with Malaysia's 50th Merdeka celebration. It is carried out in order to elevate the awareness of the efforts done by our founding fathers in achieving independence and maintaining sovereignty of our beloved Malaysia.

Ms. Nor Dianahany Ismail - English Teacher

Malaysia has prospered under the stewardship of her many sons and daughters. Such peace and political stability do not come by itself but through the sacrifices of these many individuals who believe in the dignity of Malaysia as an independent country. It would do us good to take a tour along the Merdeka Walk and then to remind us of the hopes and aspirations of our former leaders so that we can realign our present dreams with them. Then, we can truly call ourselves Malaysians in our own right.
Ms Tan Gaik Wah - English Teacher

Vibrant display of yellow...

23 October 2007
The wall is painted by our very own En. Yahya and En. Anuar. We have chosen yellow as it represents the sovereignity or the 'daulat' or our beloved Malaysia. But most importantly, we chose the colour as it represents the school's sentiment : confidence and optimism.

Exhibits 11: Suara Anak Merdeka

22 October 2007:
This is the final exhibition which shows the response from “Anak Merdeka” of SM Teknik Johor Bahru. We distributed the response sheets to all: teachers and students. There are two questions: What does Merdeka mean to me? and, in conjunction with Malaysia’s 50th Independence, what is your Merdeka wish? The team members worked very hard collecting the survey, laminating them and put them up on the section named “Suara Anak Merdeka”. This effort is to elevate the awareness, among the students and teachers, of the sacrifices done by our forefathers to achieve independence.

This was very hectic week. The team members got themselves busy distributing survey form containing questions like

a) What does “Merdeka” mean to me?

b) In conjunction with Malaysia’s 50th Independence, what is your Merdeka wish?

The responses from SMTJB community were excellent. This showed that our community is very supportive. The survey forms were then collected and laminated. They are waiting to be pasted on the display board later on.
